The Jordan Insurance Federation (JIF) has become the first institution in Jordan to be named an Approved Professional Development Center (APDC) by the Chartered Insurance Institute (CII). This landmark designation represents a significant milestone for the regional insurance sector, establishing a formal partnership between a national body and a globally recognized professional organization. Officials announced the accreditation on 18 October during the 35th General Conference of the General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF) held at the Dead Sea. This recognition enables the JIF to provide training for local insurance personnel in alignment with international professional standards. The accreditation specifically allows JIF to upskill local insurance personnel according to international professional standards, ensuring that the workforce remains competitive in an evolving global market.
JIF CEO Moayad Kloub said, "The accreditation boosts the federation’s capacity-building efforts and unlocks new training opportunities leveraging CII’s global expertise." He added, "Investing in professional knowledge improves service quality, helps companies navigate emerging risks, and supports digital transformation across the industry." By aligning its internal training frameworks with the rigorous benchmarks established by the Chartered Insurance Institute, the Jordan Insurance Federation aims to elevate the technical proficiency of its members. The integration of these global standards is expected to facilitate a more strong approach to risk management and operational efficiency for local firms operating under the federation’s purview.
Holly Porter, CII’s Executive Director of Markets and Opportunities, stated, "The accreditation showcases JIF’s commitment to global training standards." Regarding the specific impact for the workforce, Porter explained, "It enables insurance professionals in Jordan to utilize CII-approved systems and content, earn internationally recognized credentials, and adhere to a strict professional code of ethics."
The announcement at the 35th General Conference of the General Arab Insurance Federation (GAIF) served as a platform to highlight the strategic importance of this collaboration. As the first institution in Jordan to achieve the status of an Approved Professional Development Center (APDC), the JIF is positioned to lead the advancement of professional development initiatives within the country. The partnership ensures that the curriculum provided to local insurance personnel meets the high expectations of the international insurance community.
Through this initiative, the Jordan Insurance Federation intends to foster a culture of continuous learning and professional excellence. The ability to offer CII-approved content directly within Jordan removes barriers for local staff seeking to attain global certifications. This development is part of a broader effort to standardize insurance practices and improve the quality of service provided to policyholders. By adhering to a strict professional code of ethics as required by the Chartered Insurance Institute, the Jordan Insurance Federation is setting a new benchmark for industry conduct and professional integrity. The alignment with international standards is further anticipated to assist local companies in navigating complex emerging risks, thereby strengthening the overall resilience of the insurance industry in Jordan.
